Connect AvantLink & Impact, set your goals

The Settings page is where you connect your affiliate network credentials, set your monthly revenue goal, and configure the daily digest. Most settings are configured once during setup and rarely need to change.

Connecting AvantLink

Enter your AvantLink Merchant ID and Secret Key in the AvantLink section. Your Merchant ID is shown in the upper right corner of your AvantLink dashboard and under Account Settings → Account Information. The Secret Key isn't on a settings page. After saving, OptimizeAffiliate verifies the credentials and triggers an initial data sync. The first sync pulls your full transaction history from AvantLink. Depending on program age and transaction volume, this may take 2-5 minutes. Subsequent syncs run every 6 hours and take under a minute.

Connecting Impact

Impact requires three fields. Log in at app.impact.com, click your profile icon in the top navigation, choose Settings, then API under Technical. Click Create Access Token, name it OptimizeAffiliate, and choose the latest API version. Turn on the API categories OptimizeAffiliate reads (actions, reports, clicks, media partners, and ads). Add write access on ads only if you want to publish text ads to Impact from the Creatives page. After you create it, open the token's card and choose API Credentials to copy the Account SID and Auth Token. Your Program ID is found separately under Campaigns → All Campaigns. Impact and AvantLink are independent connections - you can connect one, both, or neither. The Dashboard, Actions Inbox, and all other features adapt automatically to whichever networks are connected.

Monthly revenue goal

Set a target for monthly affiliate revenue across all connected networks. This number appears as a progress bar on the Dashboard each month, updated with every sync. It also feeds into the Actions Inbox - when your program is behind pace (more than 15% below the trajectory needed to hit the goal by month end), a Priority 1 goal_behind_pace action is generated with specific partner recommendations to close the gap.

Set this to a number that's ambitious but achievable based on your current trajectory. You can update it at any time - changes take effect at the next sync.

Daily digest

The daily digest is an email summary of your affiliate program performance sent automatically each day. Configure it in the Digest Settings section.

What the daily digest includes

The digest email contains: the prior day's key metrics (revenue, clicks, CR, top partner), a 7-day revenue sparkline, a count of open Actions Inbox items by priority, and any new Store Health alerts from the most recent scan. The digest is automatically suppressed on days when all metrics are zero - you won't receive empty reports on days with no affiliate activity.

Data deletion on uninstall

When you uninstall OptimizeAffiliate from Shopify, Shopify sends an app/uninstalled webhook. OptimizeAffiliate immediately and permanently deletes all data associated with your shop - including your AvantLink and Impact credentials, all synced transaction and partner data, your action history, sample records, and creative history. No data is retained after uninstall.
