Store Health

Affiliate feed health monitoring - automatic

Store Health automatically scans your Shopify inventory and affiliate attribution data to surface problems that silently drain affiliate program performance. Out-of-stock products in your feed, low inventory warnings, dead stock, and promo code leaks are all detected automatically - no manual audit required.

Why this matters for AvantLink and Impact programs

Affiliate programs on AvantLink and Impact live and die by click quality. When affiliates drive traffic to out-of-stock pages, those clicks produce zero revenue but still count against your CR. Dead stock tells you which products affiliates aren't converting on - even if they're in your feed. Promo leaks quietly redirect discount attribution away from the affiliates who earned it. Store Health surfaces all of this automatically.

Alert types

Out of Stock

Products with zero available inventory that are live in your AvantLink or Impact affiliate feed. Affiliates actively sending traffic to these pages are spending their audience on a dead end. The alert lists the product name, SKU, and how long it's been out of stock.

What to do: Remove the product from your affiliate feed temporarily, or contact AvantLink/Impact to suppress it until restocked. If restock is imminent (within 7 days), consider setting an end date on the creative so affiliates aren't promoting a product they can't convert.

Low Stock

Products with 5 or fewer units remaining. These haven't run out yet, but if affiliates are actively promoting them, inventory could be exhausted within days without you noticing until it's gone. Low Stock alerts give you lead time to either pause promotion or expedite a restock.

Dead Stock

Products with 20 or more units on hand that have generated zero affiliate-attributed sales in the last 30 days. The product is in your feed, affiliates could be promoting it, but nothing is converting. This typically indicates one of three things: the product isn't resonating with affiliate audiences, no affiliate is actively promoting it, or the creatives for that product haven't been refreshed.

What to do: Check whether any of your top affiliates have the product in their recent content. Consider running a targeted sample send to a content affiliate with the right audience, or generating a new creative brief via the Creatives feature with a specific offer for that product.

Promo Leaks

A promo code was used at checkout but the order has no affiliate click attribution in AvantLink or Impact. This means the code reached a buyer through an unapproved channel - a public coupon site, a group chat, social media - rather than through your tracked affiliate links. You're giving away margin without any affiliate earning it, and without being able to attribute the acquisition.

What to do: The alert names the specific promo code. Check whether it's an affiliate-exclusive code that was shared publicly. If so, deactivate it and issue a new code to the affiliate through proper tracking. The Actions Inbox will also generate a Priority 1 action for promo leaks.

Scan schedule

Store Health runs automatically on a regular schedule as part of the same data sync that powers the Actions Inbox. Results appear on the Dashboard as a badge count and on the dedicated Store Health page with full details. There is no manual "run scan" button - the scan always reflects the most recent sync.

All clear state

When no issues are detected, the Store Health card shows a green "All clear" indicator. This is worth noting - it means your affiliate product feed is healthy, your inventory levels are adequate, and no promo leaks were detected in the most recent scan.

Frequently asked questions

What triggers an out-of-stock alert in my affiliate product feed?

OptimizeAffiliate checks your Shopify inventory automatically on a regular schedule. If a product variant has zero available inventory and is not set to continue selling when out of stock, it's flagged. This matters for affiliate programs because affiliates on AvantLink and Impact are actively sending traffic to those product pages - clicks that can't convert because the product is unavailable.

What is dead stock in the context of AvantLink affiliate marketing?

Dead stock refers to products with 20 or more units on hand that have generated zero affiliate sales in the last 30 days. These are products your affiliates are technically promoting (they're in your feed) but nobody is successfully selling. It may indicate a product-audience mismatch, stale affiliate creatives for that product, or a pricing issue. The Actions Inbox will generate a recommendation when dead stock is detected.

How does OptimizeAffiliate detect promo code leaks?

A promo leak is detected when a discount code is used at checkout during a transaction that Shopify does not match to any affiliate click attribution from AvantLink or Impact. This pattern typically means an affiliate shared a code through an unapproved channel (a coupon site not in your program, a Discord, a Reddit post) or the code spread beyond its intended affiliate audience. OptimizeAffiliate cross-references Shopify order discount data against your affiliate transaction logs automatically.
